A well-crafted interior design and unique building products help to enhance this exciting structure. The building is of red iron metal stud and stucco drive-it finish design, and exposed concrete compliments the surrounding exterior. With a total of 23,648 sq. ft. of space the building consists of many different areas.
A senior center was an important area designed specifically for seniors. Other areas include a recycle center area and a full commercial kitchen with two separate cooking areas containing an 8-burner and a 6-burner commercial stove.
The main attraction is the 94' x 105' (9,870 sq. ft.) gymnasium with a bleacher system capable of comfortably seating 204 people
Finally, the building's entryway foyer with its wood ceiling and four skylights offer a stunning introduction into the multifaceted facility.

"Danco Builders has been a part of several community centers and public projects. It is always rewarding to see a project come together on budget and on schedule which is enjoyed by the public as much as the Arcata Community Center."

CLIENT COMMENTARY
"I feel one of the key elements in the success of completing the Community Center project in such a positive manner was assigning a talented and personable project superintendent and management team. Danco was very responsive to the concerns and needs of the City. For the most part we were able to quickly resolve change orders and process paperwork in a timely manner. Danco provided the City with innovative and practical solutions to resolve construction problems. I appreciate the efforts Danco made in helping to keep construction costs within budget and working with the City to ensure the building was completed in time for the scheduled April 30, 1999 Grand Opening."
